“THE VILLAGE CONTESTACY” TO EVALUATE THE VILLAGE’S DEVELOPMENT WAS HELD IN DESA WANAGIRI, KECAMATAN SUKASADA

The village contestacy in Buleleng Regency aims to evaluate the development of a village using available resources within their surrounding. The day 4 of this contestacy was held in Desa Wanagiri, Kecamatan Sukasada. The ceremony itself was opened by Vice Regent of Buleleng Mr. Dr. Nyoman Sutjidra, SpOG., attended by all the village headmans in Sukasada District, The Chair of District, the house of representative members, the head of agencies within the Government of Buleleng regency, and also other guests.

The Secretary of Bappeda Litbang Mr. Putu Gde Yasa whose attending this event yesterday says that Wanagiri Village is one of the most developing village in Buleleng. This claim is marked with the growth of the economy in tourism sector. However, Wanagiri is also known as an agriculture village who produce coffee, cacao, clove, citrus, also floral and vegetables crops. These advantages must be preserved, conserved, and used to the most of villagers benefit within the corridor of sustainable development and the use of natural resources wisely. Today’s generation has the responsibility to legate the environment to their next gneration.

The ceremony of this event is also displaying the traditional balinese dance, the women’s choir, and the exhibition of the development – achievement of Wanagiri Village through passed years. This event is also greeted warmly by the house of representatives members that saying ‘this event must be held regularly to evaluate the development throughout Buleleng Regency and to push the government at all levels to put maximal efforts toward the people’s welfare, also to decrease the number of poverty’.
